This is the easiest article to write, and one of the quickest ways to be published in The Bunk Room because we feature a new Day-To-Day column with each issue. What makes it easy? You write all about a day in YOUR life. Nothing easier than writing about yourself. And the great thing is, we are interested!! Really, everyone’s interested in what a normal day or even a spectacular day looks like for you. Learn more here.
We always like to highlight your Road Trips. Tell us about an adventure you took with family or friends. It could’ve been for an afternoon or a whole weekend or more. We’ll feature you in our Road Trip section. Send us pictures too! Learn more here.

Good Deeds
Is your family or class working on any projects for others? More than likely you have in the past. Tell us what you’ve done and how you made someone’s life better.
Watch for News
This is a free-for-all. Encourage yourself to start looking at the world through the eyes of a story-teller. When you're driving around town pay attention to the out-of-ordinary. Do you see a public works truck on the side of the road with guys fixing an electrical pole? What are they doing? Be inquisitive. Stop and ask them what they're doing. Follow up with some why's and how's. Then compliment them and thank them. There ya go. You have your story. Now make sure you write it down quickly before you forget! If you have a camera phone, snap a quick shot.
BTW (By The Way): A good reporter carries a camera at all times.
More Ideas: Whatever...
Limit-yourself-not. We only give vague ideas of what you can write about...don’t box yourself in. Look out the window. Tell us what you see. Tell us about some funny story that happened on your way to school today. Whatever it is, if it was interesting enough to tell your friend about, it probably is interesting to our readers. Snap out of it. Write something. Type it into our Inbox, and Phoosh! Before you know it, you’ll be in The Bunk Room! Coolio!
Write What You Know
Oftentimes the best writing comes from what you know. It’s a whole lot more enjoyable writing about what you KNOW and it reads better too. When you write what you know, words flow from your heart and your true voice comes through. That’s when writing is FUN!
This month we invite you to WRITE WHAT YOU KNOW...what is it that you are an expert at? Are you the best juggler on the block? Are you the Master of Disguises dressing up as fanciful characters and act out their parts? Maybe you fix things and get’r done when Mom needs help around the house? What do you do that you know so well you could talk someone’s ear off about it? That’s what we’re looking for...and can hardly wait showcase you in the next Bunk Room.
Send us pictures too. Send us your drawings. Send us some cool photography. Take a picture of that pinch pot you made in art class. Or a picture of your brother doing skateboard tricks. Open your mind...share with The Bunk Room and you share with the WORLD! FUN!
DAY-TO-DAY
The EASIEST way to becoming a full-fledged Bunk Room Contributor is to write a Day-to-Day column. The great thing is that everyone LOVES this column because we all LOVE knowing what other people do!
Here’s what you do:
Pretend you’re writing to you BFF (Best Friend Forever). Pretend you are just telling them everything you did that day. We want to hear about it! In about 250 words or less that is....and SEND US YOUR PICTURE. Nothing better than putting a face to the story...
See your name in the next issue. Watch for updates on our next surveys. They’re great opportunities to see your name in The Bunk Room!
Features: Be brave! Don’t let writing scare you! Send us a small blurb or a meatier story. Generally, we like stories no longer than about 300-400 words.
